I have music on my device already. How do I get MM to see it

Post by mediamonkeychick »

Another question.

I have a phone with music already on it. MM shows me only 5 albums in the device where I have tons more (37 artists at this point, many with multiple albums). I'm not sure why it sees those 5 and no more anyway.

How do I get MM to view what is on the device? I would like to sync the device to MM (so it correctly reports the music I have on there) but not put all my music files that I have in my whole library onto this device. I hope this makes sense. I once accidentally deleted a whole ton of music files from my pc library when iTunes did a sync in some way and deleted albums from my main library. I am paranoid about that happening again.

Thanks

Ellie

You may want to capture this in a debug log (step 4b) and send it to support. Make sure you run DBGView before starting MediaMonkey and then connect your device: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... ?f=12&t=69

So the device should show it already? Do I hit sync or something? What will happen if I do? Otherwise I might run the debug.

If the device already has music on it (as you stated) it should be recognized by MediaMonkey.

I have submitted a bug report including a .log file on the Android device bug section.

I hope this helps. It is frustrating to know what to do.
