Playback lags for a few seconds whenever I choose a new song

Hello,
I'm new to the forums, so I apologize if this has already been asked. The Search function currently wont let me search.

Whenever I go to play a new track in MM, out of my library, it takes MM about 3-5 seconds to begin playing the track. It doesn't matter the file type (a lot of my files are Apple Lossless as I'm an ex-iTunes user, some are FLAC, and most are MP3 320).

When I play an album through, there is no lag in going from track to track. Only when I manually decide to play a new track, usually by double-clicking on the individual song, does the lag occur.

I'm running Windows 10 on an Intel i7-4690k, 16 GB RAM, and 512 MB Samsung PRO 850 SSD (C drive). This computer is primarily used for gaming. I often listen to MM music while playing games on Steam, and I have no lag when listening to a playlist or album. Only lag occurs when I select the first song to play.

My music collection is 662 GB which is stored on a 1TB Samsung 840 SSD (D drive). There are other files on this drive, like all the rar files I receive for digital downloads from places like bandcamp, but are NOT stored in my music library).

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as this is very annoying. iTunes never had this issue, and I want my MM experience to always be better than iTunes if at all possible.

I get that same behaviour when I double click on a file to play.

If I have my full library in view and double click it adds all my songs to the now playing list which causes a pause as all the songs are added.

If I click on the play button it starts to play immediately as no other tracks are added, same if I double click from an album node only a few tracks are added to the now playing so it starts fast.

I think there is a setting to control this but ive never looked. Try going to View/ Now playing and see which files are added
