Files keep graying out.
I've seen old posts about this. None of the answers help me. My files are all in a single folder on my PC named Music. This is a new problem. I have Windows 10. Have been using MMW for years. Had this problem several years ago. Re-installed MMW and it solved it. Tried that this time and it didn't remove the issue. I load a genre, or any list of songs and try to select a song. It automatically grays it out and then starts running through the list graying out every song in the list. The problem originally started with selecting a song and having difficulty with getting it to start playing. After a couple of false starts - it appeared to be a problem with faulty connection with the speaker USB. Now it has progressed to this. Any help? Re-installing didn't help.

Re: Files keep graying out.
This usually occurs because MM can't find the tracks to play. Try selecting some of them and running File>Locate Moved/Missing Files... and select the directory they're in. That should re-establish the connection. If that works, you can do it for all of the other tracks.

Can other applications play the files? If so can MediaMonkey play the file if you open them from File Explorer?

Re: Files keep graying out.
I've experienced two flavors of this:
1. MM jumps from one gray track to the next until it finally plays one that is not gray. In this case it always seems that MM lost track of the files for some reason, which is fixed with Locate Moved/Missing Files.
2. MM fails to play a song, turns the track gray and then pops up a dialog box saying MM can't play that format and offers to search for the missing codec and you have to act on that box. There is no missing codec. In this case, MM has randomly corrupted the track. This only happens with .m4a tracks from iTunes, and I suspect it occurs during the import process from iTunes. I have auto-organize enabled with a rule, so the import process moves the tracks out of the iTunes directory, This just happened to me with a single track of an old Supertramp album I bought today. Re-downloaded to iTunes and re-imported. Plays fine.

Hi,
1. It is very possible that iTunes manage and move files around, so MMW loose path to it.
2. Try to use latest MMW beta from viewtopic.php?f=6&t=54426&sd=d and se eif you have same problem. Also if you right click on grayed track -> find more from same -> folder explorer and try to play same track with double click?
