Introduction

MediaMonkey can connect with several Cloud Service providers:

  • Dropbox/Dropbox (app folder), whereas Dropbox gives access to all of your Dropbox, Dropbox (app folder) limits the access to to /Apps/MediaMonkey app/ folder on Dropbox.
  • Google Drive
  • OneDrive

Under Devices & Services in the Media Tree use the + next to Storage and Services to add a Cloud Service connection to MediaMonkey. Using this will take you to the Cloud Service providers website where you need to log in to your account and set the permissions for MediaMonkey to access your cloud account.

Playback from a Cloud Service

MediaMonkey can play files from Cloud Services. Select any file through the Remote Content tab of the Service Profile under Devices & Services node in the Media Tree to play the file.

Sync from MediaMonkey to Cloud Service

It's recommended to use MediaMonkey to upload files to the Cloud Service as MediaMonkey creates it's own database with the media file's tags. This metadata will be missing if you upload files to the Cloud Service outside of MediaMonkey. You can select what content from the MediaMonkey Library and set how this content is synced to the Cloud Service:

  • On the Library content tab of the Service Profile you can select what content from your MediaMonkey Library should be synced to the Cloud Service. The settings are the same as for Syncing to Devices as discussed here: Sync List (Library --> Device).
  • On the Sync Profile tab of the Service Profile you can select how MediaMonkey syncs the selected content to the Cloud Service. The settings are the same as for Syncing to Devices as discussed here: Sync Profile.

Sync from Cloud Service to MediaMonkey

There are 5 settings controlling how MediaMonkey syncs from a Cloud Service to MediaMonkey on the Remote Content tab of the Service Profile:

  • Scan 'Cloud Service' content to the local database will add files stored on the Cloud Service to the MediaMonkey Library.
  • Only include content that matches files already in the database will limit this to files from cloud service to files matched based on metadata with files on your PC in the MediaMonkey Library. If disabled the media file is added as remote file with a cloud only icon in the Source column.
  • Download 'Cloud Service' content that is not accessible locally will download any files on the Cloud Service that aren't in the MediaMonkey Library the local device.
  • Sync 'Cloud Service' metadata to Library
  • Sync schedule allows you to set when MediaMonkey will automatically Sync between the Cloud Service and MediaMonkey.

You can access files Synced from the Cloud Service to the MediaMonkey Library in the Collections > Location node in the Media Tree.
