That was my post. I deleted it when I realized the information I was posting wrong. Sorry.

Post moved, shouldn't have been.

I EDITED my original reply because I was temporarily stupid.
Thinking my post was moved. And I gave a little teeny tiny rant

Hello, I have an Ipod Classic 80GB.
All I want to do is Transfer my mp3's that I have converted using
a Free Ripper to .wav and then Audacity to MP3, to the Ipod and then ofcourse view and delete songs and playlists and such.
Basically looking to NOT use Itunes.
ALSO Need to delete a file OR playlist, since it think there' is a file there, but won't play it.
I believe it was deleted.

can't see songs

I use itunes to sync my videos and MM for music.
I had this problem until I unchecked all the auto-syncing options in itunes.
I set everything in itunes to be manual.

Works for me...

I had this problem when I got a new slimline classic 80Gb yesterday. I upgraded the Monkey to the latest version and then did a rebuild database. It works fine now. Try that.

If the rebuild database didnt work (which sometimes hasnt worked for me too). Delete everything and try resyncing - it does work but not every time. I'd guess about 3/4 for me and my classic.

Also there is a big problem with non-embedded album art when you add tracks after the main sync.

Fingers crossed!

I have Classic,
For me the new version is just slowing down the transfers.

Try to format the IPOD, Then Open Itunes let it install the basic IPOD software, after that try to move music.

Till me if it helped.
Please also reply transfer rate.

Same / similar proble with Zen Vision:M 60Gb

by tanker21 » Fri Feb 22, 2008 11:43 am

I'm having what sounds like the same proble with a Zen Vision:M.

MM seems to transfer files across; the screen on the ZVM shows an active docking symbol (which is supposed to mean sync in progress) and the ZVM says "updating" when I disconnect it.

But the "All tracks" screen says "No tracks in this category" and so do genre, album & artist.

I'm wondering if this is some sort of missing tag or structure problem.

Can anyone assist?

If not try:

Goto Configure->Device Configuration

Select update database based on all track changes

Right click on your ipod in MM and rebuild database
Thanks for this...
Unfortunately it didnt work. Music is on the pod, but as soon as it is removed from the dock I can't see/acess it. Put it back in the dock and I can see it in monkey...help

Have you tried rebuilding the database?

If not try:

Goto Configure->Device Configuration

Select update database based on all track changes

Right click on your ipod in MM and rebuild database
