Thank you very much. I will try both tools and see what is best for me.

For a definitive answer, you'd have to ask someone who uses both. Magic Nodes always seemed over my head while My Custom Nodes is quite easy to set up and maintain. It has built in EasyCriteria which makes building nodes a lot easier, IMO, than trying to make sense of Magic Nodes rules.

In what does it differ with MagicNodes ?

My Custom Nodes will also do what you want.

Install the MagicNodes script and add this node:

File Type Node|Icon:Top level\<Format|Statistic:Count(All)>\<Bitrate|Statistic:Count(All)>

If you don't care about bitrates, use:

File Type Node|Icon:Top level\<Format|Statistic:Count(All)>

You can also install Magic Nodes from this thread, which comes with a ton of pre-loaded magic nodes.

Thank you both. I tried auto-playlist just like you described and it works :D
I 'ill throw an eye on magic nodes which seems more promising ;)

the auto playlists should still work.
its only need to find the format of the song
then you put that fomat in the text line for any text area.
and nothing else. it will find all the .mp3 or .ogg or .flac .wma

i've used that system i know it works but it might not be enough of what you wanted to do
so if that is the case then what bex said to use was magic nodes that will fill in what all
you want if you can figure out how to use it? i'm still in the dark on that. :D

it may be super simple and i am thinking in the hard use way. or its too much programming code
for me to know. but it is just another way to get things done with more details so you might
like it.
:)

just make auto playlists. tell them to find the one format you want.

as in one list per format. :D

Add file type as a node ?

Hi,

Is there any possibility to add a node "file type" so that I can easily list FLAC files, MP3 files etc...
