As promised I've started a new thread for Version 2.0 of the Earliest Date from Disocogs script.

Just got back from holidays and meant to start a new thread with version 2 of this script before I left. I will post the latest version tomorrow which fixes the "cint" error and will update all on the changes I've made to the original script by yhsiuqs and thanks to him for letting me work on this little project..... Thanks also to Hagar and Cotto who did some beta testing for me.

Thanks richie ... now, what is the date fixer panel for?

I get an overflow 'cint' error. I beleive this is when there is more than a certain number of responses?
Could that number be changed?

Yes for the track now playing as long as the dock is visible (ticked)

I must thick as a brick because I'm not understanding how to make this script work. I installed it and can view the panel which wants a key which is no longer available from Discogs. Now what?

Any chance there could be an option to update the preferred field with something if no date is found?? I use 9999 personally.

Wow. This has come on leaps and bounds. I was so excited reading the thread from the beginning that I installed every version and then realised a new one had come out on the post below:)
Up to date now. Don't understand why more people are not interested in this. Surely if you want to listen to 60,70,80s music or anything to do with the year you need the actual year it came out otherwise what's the point?? ie Oh I really fancy listening to any music that was on a compilation album released in 2004...errrr.

So I doff my hat to you good sirs involved and will be happy that only us clever few know about such obvious joys. Hip hip... hooray x 3

Got your latest version and a big thanks from me. I think if more people thought about this, this would be a standard implementation.

Anyway, I wasn't sure on how to tag a whole album or use the other features you mentioned.

But yes, I do like the clean interface better.

As I use it more this week, I'll leave some feedback

You are correct, you have to check one of the radio buttons to update the Original Date field. This was another change I kept from Eyal's modifications.

I'm thinking the thing to do is to create an options sheet where users cans select what date field they want to use (I prefer original date), and if updates should be automatic or not (I prefer not). Working on that and adding cotto's request for a link to the web from the panel. Stay tuned.
