Yes, that's true (It's actually just a couple of big drives connected via USB to my router, which does have a DLNA server). But the requirement for phone mm is that the server be running mm too. Is that not the case?

Most NAS will have a DLNA server like Twonky installed.

Since the server app is required to be run on a PC, I can't access any of my music since it all resides on a NAS. I have only three computers- one resides outside the DMZ so isn't available for this, another is a workstation t hat won't be seeing any music for the time being, and the last is my UMPC. The way it's configured the UMPC gets shut off with the surround system and I have good reasons to not want to change that, not the least of which is my power bill.

So, I'm stuck. I can't access my music on my phone since my NAS won't run the servlet. This is a real bummer. If this were possible, I'd paint a big MM symbol on the hood of my car. (Well maybe not, but you get the idea.) I really really don't want to install another carPC in my new car, this would save me a bunch of money and tme.
