Hi,

Just wanted to close the loop that this has been fixed.

i.e. changes to playlists on the device (track additions, deletions, re-ordering) are reflected on the device upon synchronization in build 145 (assuming the latest MMW is used).

@Lowlander: Ah. Indeed you're right.

@BigInJapan: Haha. Yeah, that's where I WOULD have gone with it too. The problem is that I'm already using that same workaround to signal to myself which tracks I want removed entirely (2 stars), and which tracks somehow got corrupted or the wrong version/mix (1 star). Great minds think alike ;). But I'm afraid I only have 3 "real stars" left, so I don't want to sacrifice another for songs I wanna keep, but remove from my mobile playlist.

Thanks again guys,
Al

Sounds like what you describe.

I'm not positive, but it looks like a separate issue. At least, the symptom is different. The cause may be the same though (which would be great, because it looks like your issue has been set to resolved).

The symptom I'm reporting involves modifying a playlist on the MOBILE. Your issue appears to involve the playlist being modified on the desktop.

But let's see - maybe the root cause is the same.

By the way, do I have to create an issue in the bug tracker? Or does a MM staffmember generally scrape the forum and do it?

Thanks again,
Al

The work around I'm using to identify tracks that I want to prune out of the playlists that I sync to my phone is to edit the star ratings. Those seem to sync back and forth pretty reliably. When I hear a song that I want to remove, I mark it 1 star. The auto-playlists that I sync include a filter for songs rated 1 star. The tracks that I rate as such get automatically deleted from the phone's playlist the next time I sync after I've rated them. For the static lists, I sync, go into MMW and remove the 1 star tracks from the playlists manually, and then sync again.

You're not alone in wanting two-way playlist sync. I'm not sure if that's intended as a feature down the road or not. Right now, there only seems to be a framework in place for one way playlist sync (from MMW to MMA), and even that is hit or miss in the better builds (and a downright hot mess in the others).

Editing playlists on mobile -> not sync'ed

Hi.

I'm not sure if this is intended or not, but if you edit a sync'ed playlist on the mobile app (i.e. add a song or remove a song), those edits don't sync to the PC side. Not only that, but it seems like the sync doesn't even touch the playlists, so the playlists get out of sync.

In case you don't see why anyone would care, my motivation for this is as follows - I wanted to have a "Remove from phone" playlist that I could quickly add songs to, so that the next time I sync I can see which songs to remove from the (other) sync'ed playlist. I'd welcome any other approaches to this ;).

Thanks again,
Al
