Is Sound Bar Blueish or White, if white than you turned down the volume.

Thanks to everyone. Everything is working now. I'm not sure what fixed it. I did go to Windows Device Manager and chose "update driver" for my sound card. It said my driver was up to date, but it could have repaired it. (?)
Anyway, I can choose any output device listed in MM and enable hardware acceleration and EQ, etc. I've got a better understanding of MM's ins and outs. Thanks.

How do I create a debug log?

If my sound card driver is corrupt, how can I restore it?
That means that MM is not closing cleanly. Only way to find the reason why is with a debug log.

In the waveOut configuration box, the Device list recognizes two devices: "Speakers (High Definition Audio)" and "Microsoft Sound Mapper." If I choose the first, clear the "Reset to original value on stop" box, close and restart MMW, the setting is returned to MS Sound Mapper upon restart.

How does it insist on MS Sound Mapper?

Thanks, that got it. I had to change output plug-in to waveout, but it won't let me choose my sound card. It insists on Microsoft Sound Mapper. Buffer length is set to 2000. Pre Buffer and Buffer ahead on Track change are set to 0. Is that ok? Is the quality of all the output plug-ins equal? Is there a recommended plug-in I should install?

Right click the MediaMonkey tray icon > Volume > 100%. You also want to check that the correct Audio Device is selected in the used Output Plugin (Tools > Options > Output Plug-ins).

I have uninstalled, reinstalled, re-booted MM. Still the same problem. No sound goes to Windows. Other programs play audio files fine. Any help?

Yes, I've clicked the icon next to the dynamic output bar on the tool bar. Is there a setting to see if the mute is on? I thought that might be the problem, but clicking the icon on the tool bar has no effect.

Have you checked the volume control in MM? Maybe it's set to mute?

MM suddenly stopped sending sound to windows vista.
I can get no sound out put to windows. Other programs play flac files, and cd's but MM has stopped sending sound. It is playing the files, as I can see, but not hear. Neither audio (flac, wav, cd's) or video. Please advise.
