Hardware: Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition, 32GB, media files on SanDisk 64GB microSD card
OS: Android 4.3, stock not rooted
MediaMonkey 1.04.0189
I have several music video files (each <50MB). scanning for media finds the files and lists them as videos. They are all H.264 encoded, file extension .m4v. Some play in MMA and some do not, even when located in the same folder. when attempting to play them, the screen goes black, with no sound or video. touching the screen shows the player controls and the correct name for the file. the native Samsung video player displays a dialog saying "sorry, this video cannot be played .
The same file plays on MM Windows 8 RT. The Android MX Player app plays the same file with no problem. I renamed the file .mp4, and had no change in behavior.
I uninstalled and reinstalled MMA with no effect. I reformatted the card, made a clean copy of the source media, reinstalled and re indexed MMA with no change.
any suggestions appreciated.
