Hello Lowlander !

Thank you for your answer.

Yes, I've added the files to the Support Ticket itself... but the smallest file was a 9.9 MB one !
I'm going to follow your piece of advice and to send the link to the Support Ticket !

Thank you for your patience.

Did you add the files to the Support Ticket itself? That may fail as there is a 2MB limit. Better upload to a filesharing service like Dropbox and then add a link to the files to a support ticket.

Hello Lowlander !

Yesterday I tried to send my 16 files to the MM Suport Ticket, as 'BlanquerAndrew'
I went to bed after about 40% were uploaded. But, this morning I have no confirmation of complete receipt and I don'nt know if I succeded in sending these files.

Could you tell me how many files have been well received?

Hello Lowlander.

I'm back in Paris, after a... how can I say that?... an almost two week stay in my old mother's house... without any Internet or Media Monkey!

:-) Had my total incompetence discouraged you, Lowlander? :-) ... This question doesn't need any answer.
OK... As we say here in France: "where the Public Administration is silent, its answer is 'Yes!'.

So I will renew my try to send the desired (or undesired) files.

Lookin forward to reading from you.

Hello Lowlander

I set aside "my" problem for a while, because I thought some time was needed to study it.
But when I tried to see if an answer had been given, I found that, probably due to my "disabled mail address" error, AndrewBlanquer was unknown.
I suppose that my ticket is lost and that I have to create a new ticket user name and to resend the whole pack of files.
Can you confirm that, please ?... I prefer to avoid any unwanted duplicate ticket;

Cordially

Hello Lowlander.

I should have thought to it!

I've created the member AndrewBlanquer.
Curiously, even though I've given a disabled mail address, I've been able to create the support message.

Did you use the correct case for the Username? Maybe the accent doesn't work in support?

Hello Lowlander.

Thank you for the information.

So...

I tried again... and failed again.

After my log out of the forum, I went to the "http://www.mediamonkey.com/support/inde ... ets/Submit" page,
clicked on the "Register" button, agreed to the terms of registration, gave a new username, a new mail address (by the way why a new one?)
and a new password.

I tried a connexion and failed.

I asked a new password and received it: my "submit" username is known and the password is created by the MediaMonkey website, now all should work well!
I copy-pasted both (I always copy-paste this kind of information) in the "submit" page and failed again for "Invalid username or password"!
I closed Chrome, CCleaned my PC, and carried out the process. With the same result.

Do MediaMonkey resent me?

P. S.
At least I hope I'm improving my English.

You should be able to use your forum account with support with the same username and password. Unfortunately it seems for a few this doesn't work.

Make sure you are logged out of your forum account before attempting to register account for support ticket.

Hello Lowlander.

Did I send them to support? I tried and I failed!

The support ticket page asked me to log in and, as my attempt with my member user name and password failed,
it seemed to me that I needed a specific registration.
I clicked the link "register here"... and I was dropped to the main forum page where I didn't see any other way to log in, except as a member.
I returned to the support ticket page and tried the "Lost password" link: as a result I've changed my member password!
And I still can't log in the support ticket page.

Sometimes I ask myself if I'm stupid... Please, do not answer this question!
What didn't I understand?

Tag - How to turn off automatic tags updating

by AndréBlanquer » Mon Mar 09, 2015 10:36 am

Hello Lowlander.

I'm back and I've made my homework... I'd better say "my tests".
It took me a long time, but now I have some (big) files to send you.

I hope you will find them at the following address:
https://share.orange.fr/#7OACaszpqF1507321370

In the first place, I suggest you to open the "z MM - Test.zip" file
which contains the "MM -Test.doc" file describing my tests and their results.

For each test I've made, there is "Record xx.avi" file.
As you've already guessed each "Record xx.zip" file contains a "Record xx.avi" clip...
which is rather long to download.

The last file ("MediaMonkey - DebugView (...).log") contains one debug file, corresponding to the last test I've made.

The link between each test and each file is clearly stated (I hope so) in the "Word" file.

I wish you courage to read my indigestible text written in poor English.

Very cordially
André Blanquer

Step 4b: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=69

With large files use a file sharing service like dropbox and add the link to the file(s) in your support ticket: http://www.mediamonkey.com/support/inde ... ets/Submit

Hello Lowlander and Pike.

Sorry for my slow answer,
but I spend all my spare time tagging my numerous tracks with Metatogger.
So I haven't looked at the forum for a long time.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Lowlander:
How can I provide you a debug log?

Peke:
Is your "sample file" a copy of MM.DB?

Lowlander and Peke:
How can I send you a debug log and this MM.DB file (45.2 Mo)?

Would'nt be better to directly use my PC ?
1 - It's possible to give the control of a PC to another one
(even if I've never studied this) and I would agree to do so;
2 - does it exist a tool to record all my actions and the reactions of MM?
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

To tell you the size of MM.DB, I searched it in C:\Program Files (x86)\MediaMonkey
(by the way the version is 4.1.5.1719, installed - how can I say that - in "normal mode").
I didn't find it!
I searched all the system disk (C: of course) and I've found this file in the following folder:
C:\Programmes - portables\MediaMonkey 4.1.2.1706 mode Portable
As you can see I've installed it in the portable mode.

Historically, I've first installed MediaMonkey in the portable mode.
When you told me that the first action to do was to update MM, I did it but I missed to ask the portable mode!
So I have two versions installed, even if I only use the "normal 4.1.5.1719" version.

Now, three questions:
1 - Is there any conflict beetwen the two versions (I don't imagine how and why, but I'm not a MM specialist (smile)) ?
2 - Is the MM.DB created by the "portable MM" used by the "normal MM"?
3 - If not, how does the "normal MM" save the information?
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Thank you for beeing so involved in the resolution of this trouble.

André Blanquer
