You may have had the MMA database transferred to the new phone, but as you said not the media files.

Well I guess venting let me finally figure it out :) I went into MM on the phone, and deleted all the tracks. (No loss, since they weren't really there anyway.) MM then sync'ed as reliably and as well as it always does and now I'm happy and my husband is happy (because he needs his music.)

I hope this may help someone else :)

MM 4.1.14 and Google Pixel

Long story short, had an Samsung Note 7. Got replaced with a Google Pixel. MediaMonkey worked great on the Samsung. Not working on the Pixel. My google fu has let me down and I've had a really, bad. long, day.

I didn't copy the music from old phone to new phone. I figured I'd just sync to MediaMonkey on my computer. When I open up MediaMonkey on my phone, it shows the titles and playlists for all my music, but there's no music there. (Hit "play" and doesn't do anything.) File Manager confirms there is no music on my new phone. I got the sync confirmation dialogue on my computer, but the phone says everything is synced, so no sync/update occurs. I uninstalled and reinstalled MediaMonkey on my phone and checked for updates on the computer. Restarted the phone. Restarted the computer. Made sure that my computer is listed as my sync server on the phone. I did multiple searches on the knowledge base and google in general. If there's an answer that applies to this, I can't see it.

How do I force MediaMonkey to sync to my phone? (I'm using MM 4.1.14.)

If anyone can help me, I'd be very grateful. Thank you for reading this (cough) "short version" of the situation. :-?
