At first glance, beta build 1.3.0.0692 has resolved my issues with SD card playback. Thanks!

Hi,

I've tested:
* to upgrade from 624 to 691 with a working library and some tracks. Works
* Sync tracks. Works
* Clean up everything and sync 1000 songs to mma. Works. During reading the new tracks and artworks mma stopped scanning. After a retrigger to scan all songs where found.
* Playing song from library or from folder. Works

Great job! Done well! Really appreciate your hard work :-)

So far, so good. Will continue testing over the next few days.
Thanks for the quick turn-around

Hi,

We've just posted a beta build (1.3.0.691) to the play store which fixes this issue. Can you please give it a try and confirm whether it solves the problem for you?

Thanks.

I wanted to chime in and say that I am having the exact same issue described by the others in this thread.

MMA can read the meta-data on the files on the card, it just can't play them. All files appear to be present in the Album/Artist browser, but when attempting to play them MMA just skips over them while the message "Skipping inaccessible tracks" is displayed.

Example behavior w/ log IDs generated:

1) Attempt to play album stored on SD card, nothing is played--all files skipped through in order.
Log ID: ZFUW3K4FQB

2) Two sample MP3s are copied to /Music directories on both internal storage + SD card. MMA can read the meta-data from the files on the SD card. For example, when displaying the album by selecting Albums on the home screen, MMA sorts them properly--all four files are visible under the same album/artist, and correct song titles are displayed. However, when playing entire album th first two songs (on internal storage) play correctly, then MMA skips over the final two (on SD) without playing.

Hi Martin,

Is the build 1.3.0.686 available as beta? In google playstore I can see only 685 as beta :(
If you need a beta tester you can send me a link to the apk file.

Hi,
to build 1.3.0.686 I have added new option "Use different path for playback" to Developer Options(About MediaMonkey -> tap to MMA icon).
The option also turns on automatically when bug occurs(after current track is skipped for first time).
Let me know whether it is working when this option is enabled.
Thanks.

[EDIT: we're the fix isn't quite ready so it'll be posted after a bit more work]

My device and the SD card is encrypted, too.

As written some posts ago the issue didn't appear with MMA 1.2.0.624. Since MMA 1.3.0.684 all links to the encrypted SD card are broken. Using the internal encrypted memory of the phone MMA works with both versions.

Syncing from MMW to the SD card is working and the files are created on the phone. But they can't be played in MMA. In folder mode all music files are listed, but can't be played. If i use the Samsung of Google player app all music files can be played.

Between the tests no firmware update or other changes happend.

Yes...my external sd card is encrypted per corporate policy. However this has always been the case and I'm not aware of any tweaks they've made recently.

btw, have any of you encrypted your SD card / used adopted storage?

I'm having this same problem only recently, having run MMA fine for years.

I just submitted my logs #YRDF8DUPDT.

Hi Rusty,

I was using MMW 4.1.15.1830 and MMA 1.3.0.684. Did you test with the internal memory (working) or with a SD Card (not working)?

I just updated MMA. I noticed that if I switch from MMA 1.2.0.624 to MMA 1.3.0.685 a popover appears with "Upgrading paths format in database." Could this be the reason?
The problem still appeared. I uploaded a log ECQAKEYHC2.

PS: I'm using USB sync.

PPS: Any idea where I can get MMA 1.2.0.624 again? Yesterday it was available in the playstore. But today I can get only 1.3.0.685 which is not working any more :(

Hi Cyd and Vukrakas,

I've tested with both an S5 mini (Android 5) and S7 (Android 6) and wi-fi sync / playback works correctly with both (MMW 4.1.15.1830 / MMA 1.3.0.685). Does the problem occur when syncing with those versions? If yes, can you please run MMA, initiate playback of a track and then when it fails to play, generate a log (MMA Menu > About > Send logs) and post the log ID to this thread.

Thank you!

-Rusty

p.s. in the past we've occasionally seen problems when MMA is installed on Android x and works correctly, but then experiences trouble when the device updates to Android X+1 (due to changes in how the OS identifies the SD card). But neither of you mentioned this scenario.

No problem here on a Galaxy S5. Which version of MMA are you using?
