Just managed to fix that:
1. Go to Settings
2. Tap on Installed Apps
3. Tap on Documents
4. Tap on the "Enable" icon on the bottom
5. Go back to MediaMonkey and continue its initial setup

We don't have any xiaomi devices for testing, but here's an article that explains how this is supposed to work:

On first launch, instructions show to grant access to sd, but tapping "continue" shows the message "Primero active Documentos en Ajustes > Aplicaciones instaladas" without a continuation. I have no clue.
