Yes, sure thats why its called VBR. But I alway use VBR to rip my CDs and if I use VBR with around 160kbs the range is inbetween 140 to maybe at peaks 200 after encoding.
But in this case, the VBR quality I chose should center around 125kbs but it encodes complely above 200kbs!

In VBR mode there isn't any guarantee of the final bitrate. Use ABR mode in case you want to use variable birate mode with some target average bitrate.

Autoconvert for Zen Nano Plus does not work properly

by Jaschmibu » Wed May 03, 2006 9:53 am

Hi, I'm a absolutely convinced user of MM and am sure the following problem is just a mistake on my side...but we'll see.

I want to autoconvert all Mp3s which are to be transferred to the Zen Nano to MP3s with VBR V5 around 125kbs. As soon as I start the synchronizing MM converts all the MP3s to approximately 240kbs VBR!!! My settings in the autoconvert menu are: All Filetypes, All Bitrates, Convert to VBR V5, Stereo.
When I change the VBR to CBR with 128kbs it works fine, but as soon as I switch back....bang.

Has anyone experienced something like this before? I'm using the latest MM Gold version.
Would be nice to get some help.
Thanks
