Hi,
I just tried to replicate using these steps:
1. Installed Clean MM5 Portable, not started on install finish
2. Start MM5 (Selected NO to import MM4 library, canceled initial setup wizard)
2. Inserted CD
3. CD shows in Tree
4. Click on it tracks shows
5. Right click -> Get FreeDB
6. ALL OK

Can you please open support Ticket and create full debug log using steps above (from Step 2) using https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewt ... ?f=30&t=69 but skipping installation of MMW as you are testing MM5

I have found need for a Small tweak as CD Info is not updated in Tree apron success finding in FreeDB, so I added it as https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=15846

Same behavior in MM5 (2188). Attaching Screenshots. Error logs (D5A65FF5 - A9AF5FF5) sent from same email address. Thank you.

Upon Inserting music CD into CD Drive to rip new CD and add to library, MM5 (2186) attempts to connect to the freedb.org website which then causes MM5 to freeze. Task Manager must be used to close MM5. Behavior can be seen in the attached screenshots. Made three attempts to rip CD (rebooting system after each attempt) and experienced same behavior each time. Also, the following error logs have been generated and sent from Als.....@Cy........com (4F3E5FF5 - 57295FF5).
