FYI: The issue was communicated offline (via PMs) and will be fixed as https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=16083

Milý Luďku, zdravím Tě do Brna :)

Anyway, the MM5 instance stopped to communicate when deleting the 50k+ tracks. (white screen, no controls)

So, to get the situation before the issue appeared:
  • The MM4 DB has been freshly converted to MM5 DB and no issue appeared.
  • I closed MM5, and archived the DB to be PM-ed to you. (no issue up to now)
  • I requested a podcast update in a newly opened MM5,
  • and MM5 notified me about the inability to delete the FortiClient directory. (the issue appeared)
  • (The podcast update still runs on Radiožurnál, seems to be neverending)

This is very MM5 issue and it occurred right away after I installed MM5 recently. The MM4 instance updates podcasts without the 'delete' prompt. So, I wouldn't remember, which podcast I deleted personally before this issue appeared. There had to be quite a lot deleted automatically: 30 pieces a week.

If you wish to see the DB at the closest possible time to the issue, then I just let MM5 reconvert the MM4 database again and see its reaction. You'll get a fresh database just after MM5 got rid of the old podcast tracks. OK?

I would rather see the original MM5.DB - ideally before this happened as the particular episode was already deleted from the DB.

In the log I see that it deleted episode with GUID 7603199 that was 'C:\Users\Macarena\Music\Podcasts\Radiožurnál\Zápisník zahranicních zpravodaju - Zápisník Jana Kaliby.mp3' just before deleting the problematic episode (with GUID 7565632) that was in \Program Files\Fortinet\FortiClient\cert\ca\

BTW: Taky rád poslouchám Radiožurnál a zdravím z Brna ;-)

The Podcast download location is set to

Code: Select all

C:\Users\Macarena\Music\Downloads\<Artist>\<Album>\<Title>
I'll try also the following:
  • make a backup of the whole MediaMonkey5 directory
  • delete all available files in the library
  • check on the issue
  • send you a minimal copy of the DB
If that fails, you'll get a copy of the original DB. I'll share a DB with you soon.

Hi,
I analyzed your log and I can confirm that MM5 wants to delete \Program Files\Fortinet\FortiClient\cert\ca\

The reason is that it deleted a podcast episode that originally was in that directory and it tries to delete the emptied folder (as the podcast episode is no longer there).
I just wonder why the podcast episode was downloaded to \Program Files\Fortinet\FortiClient\cert\ca\ ?? I suppose that you didn't configure your download location for podcasts this way? I mean in Tools > Options > Downloads/Podcasts > Download podcasts to ... ?

Anyhow, could you please zip and share also C:\Users\Macarena\AppData\Roaming\MediaMonkey5\MM5.DB so that I can analyze it and see more about this strange issue?
You can just send me private message with the link to the MM5.DB file (if you don't wish to share it here)

EDIT: From the log I see that your podcasts reside in C:\Users\Macarena\Music\Podcasts\ so it is strange how the particular podcast episode could get into \Program Files\Fortinet\FortiClient\cert\ca\, so I would need to see your MM5.DB

You can open eSupport ticket and attach the files, compress it (ZIP, RAR) and attach.
If the files are too large then upload the file(s) to a free file hosting service (DropBox, RapidShare, FileDropper, MediaFire, ...) and share just the link to the file.

FortiClient issue - MM5 intends to remove directory

Dear devs,

I encountered the following issue with
  • Win 10 v1903
  • MM5 5.0.0.2209
  • FortiClient 6.2.1.0831
Opening MM5 triggers podcast update and that is not finished due to MM5 wanting to delete a FortiClient certification(?) directory, see attachment. I have to press OK several times or OK to all once to make the notification vanish. The podcasts are not updated at this time. I can go to any podcast stream and update that single podcast with no error. Then, when I go back to Update all podcasts, they are going to be updated with no notification on FortiClient. I created a screenshot and a DebugView LOG on the described period, but I'm unable to attach it to this post (no option to do so). Where should I send it?

FortiClient is a basically a system program with our OS: untouchable and unchangeable. There is no user options to set any ports or any exceptions, or at least IDK about any.

I noticed that after closing the MM5 window (the whole program), the window vanishes very quickly, but there are two processes running quite long, few second even after the window has been closed and the bug report finished. IDK, if that is any coincidence or it is any unrelated behavior.
