There was a misunderstanding--I agree that this isn't desired behavior.

Tracked at https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=16388

Thanks!

Hi,
That is normal and designed behavior.

eg. if you rip CD of classical music and you do not enter Album info or Genre, but then later edit for one track and find out that other are also missing the same info you select all tracks -> properties and MM will check that field by defaul in order to tag that info in rest of selected files only if One track have Genre/Album and rest of tracks have that field empty.

If you for example repeat same proces but select two tracks with both having different Album info them field will not be checked and will be empty.

After ripping a CD, updating song and album properties shows an interesting behavior. After updating a single song to include Composer(s) and Lyricist(s), if you select the entire album to change a properties option, the Composer(s) and Lyricist(s) from the previous single song entry now shows for the entire album. Basically, instead of "Multiple files selected", or blank entries, as is the behavior with Location, File Name, Title, Artist(s), etc., these categories populate with the entries from the single song property previously entered. I believe this should populate with "Multiple Files Selected" or leave blank as do other entries that vary greatly on any given album. Here are some screen shots to demonstrate this behavior.

Thank you.
