Hi

Thanks for looking at the problem and for the fix.

I do not have any folders monitored constantly. My main Music SSD is set to scan on startup of MM5. No other folders are scanned at any time

Thanks,
I analyzed your MM5.DB and found that the duplicate episodes got there because you have enabled constant monitoring of folder where your podcasts resides, and once the new episode was downloaded then it was also scanned into your library at the same time (via the folder monitoring feature) and associated to the feed. It mostly does not happen, but I found a defect in the code that can result in this situation, will be fixed as https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=16607

EDIT: You can delete the link to your library

Hi

1> No special steps, just downloaded and played episodes.
2> Sure. I presume it is not a security risk to post it here, if you are asking me to do so. Here is a link:

I have tried rebuilding the database in the database management menu, but the duplicates are still there.

I have also tried deleting the duplicates using rt-click and Remove, but even after confirming the deletion, the list remains the same (presumably because my settings require that the full episode list be maintained even after deletion).

Below are links I posted in an earlier reply showing an example of duplicates in the episode list and a screenshot of my settings for that podcast.

Playing with it a bit and I am unable to get the episode duplicated, see: https://www.dropbox.com/s/tkhv6bfie08a9 ... 9.png?dl=0

1) Have you done some special steps except for listening the episodes and updating the podcasts?
2) Would you mind sharing your MM5.DB for analyzing?

Hi

It hadn't occured to me that the doubling was an error in the rss feed as the problem occurs with two separate podcasts that I subscribe to, and it only occurs after I have listened to a particular episode.

This one is currently duplicating episode 3 (dated 09/05/2020):

This one is currently duplicating multiple episodes that I have listened to, but does not duplicate any that I have not yet listened to:

Hi,
isn't it that the episodes are duplicated within the feed itself?

Could you post the rss link?

Hi

I looked in the podcast folders and there are duplicates of the same podcast episode within a single podcast folder. (Podcast folders are not duplicated, so there remains only one folder for each subscribed podcast).

Restarting does not resolve the duplicates.

Also, the episode list retains duplicates even after the podcast audio file has been deleted from the computer.

Hi,
Based on your pictures it looks like Podcasts are re downloaded to designated podcast folder and that there is an duplicate of same podcast in separate folder?

Are track properties point to sam folder and does MM5 Restart solve the duplicates?

Using build 2247 (though this problem was also present in the previous version).

I only started using MM5 for podcasts recently, so can't say whether this has always been a problem or whether it just started in build 2246.

I have a number of podcasts under the Podcasts --> Subscriptions node, all with multiple episodes listed.

When I finish listening to a podcast and move on to download the next episode, I get this random doubling of the item I have just listened to in the podcast episode list. You can see from my example images that the doubling appears to occur randomly, and does not occur with all episodes. Refreshing the podcast does not remove the duplicates.

Here are two pics that show episodes (for two different podcasts) listed twice in the episode list after being listened to. In the second image, I have highlighted the duplicates with a red box.

I have selected in the options to maintain the whole list of episodes for each podcast (but only to download 1-2 episodes at a time) even after deletion of downloaded items. The third image linked below shows my podcast settings for the podcast shown in the second image, though actually I use the same settings for all my subscriptions
