Problem
Currently new classifications cannot be deleted, or it is not obvious how to do it.
When classifying songs the following problem can occur:
- Entering a classification field (e.g. "Tempo")
- Starting to write "moderate"
- When only "mo" is written "moderate" is the only item in the drop-down menu
- Pressing TAB/ENTER to select "moderate"
- The tempo is now set to "mo"
Changing the tempo to the correct value leaves the tempo "mo" as an option in the sub-menu "Classification" and in the drop-downs.
Sometimes those unused classifications get cleaned up, but neither a manual re-scan of the library or complete rebuild of the database can do that.
Possible solutions
- Not used classifications are automatically removed (maybe after a re-scan)
- Not used classifications except standard values are automatically removed (maybe after a re-scan)
- Classifications have a place in the "Options" menu where they can be deleted (songs that use the deleted classification are just unclassified)
Further Ideas
- Possible selections in the drop-down are automatically selected and auto-filled, instead of incomplete classifications
- When implementing version c: right clicking a classification in the "Classification" sub-menu shows an option to directly go to the "Edit Classifications" option
