Yahoo in German:
Yahoooooo!
Yihaaaaaa!
Yipeeeeee!
Wohooooo!
Yeaaaaaa!
... just some guesses, I'm not German, but I think it is the same everywhere in Europe, America, Australia
so you could use your brain
Well that's my problem  :-?

why thank ya.

but latin is native to spanish speaking countrys.

i just could not get in to edit the poll and put the missed comma in to space it apart from chants.

pop to me is Dean Matian, Sammy Davis Jr.? so they fall in to easy listening.

but you guys do know that it had to be broke down to just a few many catagory's or there would have been too long of a list.

which is why i named all the sub catagorys as Like. " Rock " and the others. so you could use your brain and figure out which one best suited your style and have a main catagory to list it under.

this is not to be a scientific poll it is just a poll that is trying to be small and keep all in order.

8)

how do you say yahoo in german?? :P

Your funny, techno and rap as a sub of rock. Latin under the other category works well, but I don't think's native. And pop a sub of classical?

by Steegy » Mon May 22, 2006 12:05 pm

techno trance are sub's of rock. hip hop and rap are also known as subs of rock. punk is a sub of rap which is a sub of rock.
...
pop is a sub of classical as it is also a sub of easylistening.
Sorry, I have to totally disagree with this.

For a more correct genre/subgenre listing, there's this post: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10001 or other internet resources like wikipedia.

The most "normal" music for me is Rock, so I now voted for that.
(most good 70-80 songs are Rock "in my eyes").

@heinimuecki:
Yihaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! A German cowboy :D

I really have to learn to summarise!

by Teknojnky » Mon May 22, 2006 10:34 am

It should be obvious, but techno (and all rock) is my favorite music, but I do enjoy almost all music... I like country the least, tho there are probly more obscure types of music that I don't care much for either.

As you can see the poll misses many of these genre's.
no it does not.

look at the poll again. and look at the first message of mine.

techno trance are sub's of rock. hip hop and rap are also known as subs of rock. punk is a sub of rap which is a sub of rock.

pop is a sub of classical as it is also a sub of easylistening. latin genres fall under the Native genere and that is in the other genere.

so yours are not missed your just mostly Rock  8) :D

I don't have a specific preference, currently listen a lot to alt. rock, country, easy listening, electronic, hip hop, rap, r&b, rock, pop, punk rock, techno, trance, some latin genre's.

As you can see the poll misses many of these genre's.

by heinimuecki » Mon May 22, 2006 9:04 am

i voted country and all subgenres but that does'nt fit extactly to my taste.
basically i just listen to "music", does'nt matter what genre it is.
the only decision is whether i like listening to a song or not.
however most of the songs in my collection are country (around 90% i think, the other 10% are divided into jazz, pop, a few classical).

Something I often listen to is electronic music (Trance, Dance, House, Lounge, Electronica, ...) but that's not on your list.

(Main) genres of my 4- and 5-star songs: Trance, Rock, Ambient, Ska, Pop, ...
These songs are the ones that are *top*. I can listen to them in any situation.
So I couldn't choose

When I'm in an "ambiance" mood: Disco, Eurodance, Folk, ...
When I'm in an "let's party" mood: Trance, Techno, Rave, Happy Hardcore, Dance, Eurodance, Euro-Techno, ...
When I'm in an "quiet" mood: Ambient, Melodic Trance, Lounge, Progressive Rock, Power Ballad, Acoustic, Easy Listening, Soft Rock, Slow Rock, Singer/Songwriter, New Age, Classical, Symphony, Acoustic Soul, Ballad; Vocal, Neo-Classical, ... (that doesn't mean I'm in a quiet mood most of the time; I just have a lot of that music, to have some variation).

I like 70-80-90's music ("classics") a lot: The Outfield, Spin Doctors, Ace Of Base, The Cars, Danny Wilson, ... (When speaking of the "normal" genres).

So it should be clear by now that choosing a music genre is very difficult for me.
Steegy you fall in to the Rock and Other generes. :P
with a heavy useage of classical

i thought everyone new the computer music fell in to the rock genere. will adjust the poll. :)

Personally my favourite at the moment is indie (so I put rock) with some emo. Favourite bands include Stereophonics, Starsailor, Athlete, Feeder, Fall Out Boy...... (the list is long!) :)
