Just think of the artist's name as a brand name not a personal name. If Elton John is a "brand" than he'd be listed under E. It may sound silly but it helped me. I do have 5,000 1 CDs that are alphabetized as they should be though. Elton is in the J's

I've noticed that the default sort seems to be on the artist's first name. Like in the list of Artists, I have Elvis Presley and Elton John in the E area. For awhile I tried forcing it by putting the artists in properties as Last name, First name. It still sorts them on the first name, but now it as them listed as Last, first so it looks even more out of place. For example, I have Alan Jackson, then Glazunov, Alexander, then America. etc.

Am I the only one who has a problem with this? I admit, I'm older and we always sorted everything on last names, like the phone book. So when I want Elton John, I'm looking in the J's not the E's. Is there any other way to fix this?
