No, I'm using the default rules for all of my podcasts and the others are not deleting after they've been listened to either.

Do you maybe have separate rules for the specific Podcast?

So, with the latest update, my podcast is now updating as it should. Thank you.

But, I still have a problem with the listened to podcasts not being deleted.

Under "Global Podcast Settings" I've got checked "Delete episodes older than" and I've set it to "1 day". Then the checkbox below that is checked that reads "Only if they have been listened to".

This used to work before.... before I started having all these problems with podcasts.

One thing I notice, in MM5 under Podcast>Subscriptions>Insight for Living Daily Broadcast, the podcast dates are correct. But, when I look at the same podcasts in iPod>Podcasts, the dates look like "4/4471", "7/4471", "8/4471", etc. Don't know if that has anything to do with it.

So wasn't this just a temporary issue for you? And if not, can you try whether re-subscribing the feed resolves the issue?

I open MM5. My other two podcasts update just fine. The Insight For Living one does nothing.

I opened MM5 a week or so ago and the IFL podcast downloaded about 25 past episodes and was up to date. I don't know why, I don't know what's changed. But, since then it hasn't updated anymore. The newest episode I have is dated 4/24/2022. It's a Mon-Fri podcast and today is 5/5/2024.

Can you elaborate what exactly does not work for you?

Just tested subscribing http://feeds.feedburner.com/InsightForLivingDailyBroadcast and it shows all 16 episodes for me:

I don't think that Sync with a portable device ever deleted a podcast episode from hard drive.
It is settings of the subscription: https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/WebHelp:Podcasts/5.0#Subscribing_and_Listening_to_Podcasts
to remove episodes from HDD/library.

Sync can delete episodes from the device once they no longer matches the Sync list and the device is configured to delete files no longer matching the sync list: https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/WebHelp:Exporting_Tracks/5.0#Sync_List_(Library_--%3E_Device)

Something else that's been happening is this. When I used to click the sync button for my iPod, the podcasts that I've already listened to would automatically be deleted from my iPod and my hard drive and the next 10 unlistened to podcasts would be copied to my iPod (that's what I have it set to).

Now when I click the sync button, it just marks the podcasts on my hard drive as listened to. I have to delete them from my hard drive and click the sync button again. Then I get a popup notice asking if I want to remove the files from my iPod. After I click yes, it copies the next 10 podcasts.

BTW: I found this issue that you might be experiencing ?

1) Subscribe podcast feed http://feeds.feedburner.com/InsightForLivingDailyBroadcast
2) Download at least 1 episode
3) Unsubscribe the feed and select just
(o) Unsubscribe
i.e. not
( ) Unsubscribe and delete all episodes
4) Re-subscribe the feed http://feeds.feedburner.com/InsightForLivingDailyBroadcast
=> The feed doesn't appear in the Subscriptions list anymore and is not updatable (appears only in "Unplayed")
5) Restart MM5
=> the feed now appears correctly in the Subscriptions list, so it is a refresh issue

I subscribed the feed in MM5 and it is updating just fine here (tested with 5.0.2.2525)

Are you saying that also unsubscribe/subscribe did not fix this ?
Maybe '[x] Show removed pisodes links' in Options > Downloads/Podcasts would do the trick?

It just doesn't show image as instead of using standard
<itunes:image href="..."> it is using <image><url>...</url></image>

I have MM4 and MM5 installed (latest versions of each). I'm subscribed to two different podcasts. One of them updates fine in both versions, the other will only update in MM4. I tried unsubscribing and deleting all files in MM5. I subscribed again and it downloaded the latest episodes. That was last week. I opened MM5 this morning expecting it to download the Monday and Tuesday episodes. It updated my other podcast, but not this one. I opened MM4 and it updated the podcast with both episodes. The podcast URL is http://feeds.feedburner.com/InsightForLivingDailyBroadcast.

I don't have the "Customize subscription rules for this Podcast" checkbox checked. These are the global settings:
On update, download recent episodes first from the past month
Delete episodes older than 3 days
Only if they have been listened to
Always retain the 2 most recent episodes
On download, tag episodes based on data from podcast feed
