I should add that the symptom is that the option to paste is greyed out when this happens, in all artwork views ie list by album, preview, and properties.

There is no issue with the clipboard, because after MM restart, the same clip will paste again.

Please also don't forget to keep an eye out for the issue of losing the ability to paste artwork after a half hour or so of tagging etc.

I don't know how to submit a log for that, because takes so long to start happening.

I'll try it later when I'm home by using ctrl/v into the artwork properties box but I know that 'paste' from Mediamonkey's context menu is always greyed out in the artwork properties box unless I try to drag and drop first.

Strange, I tried it many times and for me copy & paste always works after the fix (testing with Chrome - copy image and paste to properties dialog - Artwork).

No, copying via right click from chrome and then paste from Mediamonkey's right click menu hardly ever works first time and the option is almost always greyed out.

What I usually have to do is to try and drag the image from chrome first (although that never actually does anything) and then do a copy and paste afterwards. Unless I try to drag and drop the image first, the copy/paste function is always greyed out in Mediamonkey's context menu.

It's weird behaviour but something about trying to drag and drop the image into the dialogue box first seems to open up the 'paste' option in Mediamonkey's menu.

Chrome browser is problematic for dragging images (because it sometimes does not drag the image, but the link to the page with image). Workaround is use "copy image" in context menu in Chrome and the Paste, this should work always. Does it work for you too?

Still not working right for me in today's 2613 update, same as in previous versions. Sometimes it works OK but more often if I try to drag or paste art (from any site in Chrome browser) into the Artwork tab of Properties it won't work. But if I first try to drag and *then* try to paste afterwards then it usually works OK. Something about trying to drag before I paste makes it work OK.

Seems fixed again in 2613.

Also, now there is a paste option in the left column of the main window as well. :D

For lowlander, I have tried the drag and drop from web browser and it actually works into the properties window even in some cases where the paste is failing.

Great if the image is the correct size. Snipping tool is better if I want to adjust the size.

Clearly there is nothing wrong with the clip, because quite often the exact same clip fails to bring up the paste option in "Properties", but pastes perfectly fine in the preview window, or into MM4.

There appears to still be an intermittent fault in the properties window that causes the paste option to not appear.

I think 18180 needs to be reopened for further fixing, it is as described there.

I will test the drag and drop as I never used that before

What are you copying the Artwork from when Pasting fails? Can you do Drag & Drop of Artwork instead?

OK, so its a bit complicated. Woke up this morning, and lo and behold, the paste option appeared on right-click in the properties window, and it was working!!! :o

This is all using 2611 and Material design skin (apparently the most likely to work with latest updates??)

I was getting all ready to log in here and accuse you of entering surreptitiously into my computer overnight and fixing it. How you would do that left me wondering.

So, I worked it for a bit, tried a few searches, a few auto-tags, played a few songs, total maybe 15 minutes of use, and then tried again. Now the [b]"paste" option again failed to appear[/b] after right-click in the properties window. The right click menu then has only 4 items in it. With the same image still on the clipboard, the paste option did appear and work for the same track in the preview window.

As to any failure in the preview window, on some much rarer occasions I have had the paste option appear, but it remains greyed out, even though there is a paste able image in the clipboard. Restart MM usually fixes it.

So this would be the programmers favorite bug - not always repeatable - hard to reproduce - yet the user keeps complaining.

Rob_S: I cannot reproduce problem in properties window, what exact steps you do, from where you copy the image and how?
I cannot reproduce the problem in Preview panel too, are some steps needed before?
