Same issue here.

Steps to reproduce (tested with .mp3, .ogg, .m4a) .flac seems to work correctly

In windows explorer double click or right click "open with" >> mediamonkey 5 on a .mp3/.ogg/.m4a file mediamonkey it doesn't play in mediamonkey if the now playing playlist is empty. If there are tracks in mediamonkey now playing playlist it will just play the last track that was playing/played. Of the files in my music collection that i tested, .flac is the only one that works correctly as it should.

Edit : correction it does it with .flac also

debug log as requested

Example:
Following file does NOT work

Player - Without You.mp3

Without spaces it does work, so

Player-WithoutYou.mp3

Yes, it works for me as well as for you (mp3, flac, ogg).
Sorry guys,
but it never occurred to me to play a file using windows explorer. (I use MM for this without exception)
And in which file name is NO space?
My file name is composed as follows in ONE folder:
For albums: Title - Artist - AlbumName.ext
No Album: Title - Artist.ext

Kein Album: Title - Artist.ext

I have the same problems with .2627.
This feature of MM works only with filenames without spaces.
EDIT: seems that only .mp3 are affected

I assume that the "online / my library" remark was just aimed at the Youtube videos issue. However this seems not to be relevant to the original problem reported in this topic.
As mentioned, when double clicking on an audio file in Explorer, MM5 starts with playing the last played song(s) in stead. Same when selecting a track thru "Open" or "Open with" in the context menu.

This seems to be happening as of version 5.0.3.2626. Also, it doesn't matter if MM5 is running or not: it happens in both situations.

It sounds like you switched to Online instead of My Library when viewing your media.

Hi, I'm a Gold customer. Yesterday May 28, I downloaded the latest version of MM (Version 5). Many files seemed corrupted linking to Youtube videos !!! I uninstalled it and went back to previous version and it seems to have come back to normal. Have I done something wrong? Thanks in advance. Love my MM :)

Sorry, just testing this again, and having the same issue even if MM is not running.
