I'm using
KDE Connect to control Media Monkey 5 playback (pause/play, previous track, stop, next track and volume) on my Windows 11 machine from my Pixel phone.
This software does more than I'm smart enough to make use of, yet I had it working in under 5 minutes.
Apparently works from Apple devices as well.
Plenty of user support and completely free and open source.
Hopefully, it helps out a few users here.
