I don't see that very much bloat would be required. The conversion mechanism from one audio filetype to another is already there.

The codecs to read the audio tracks from the video files and send it to the speakers is already there. I would think pretty much all that is needed is to connect these together.

It would certainly be nice to be able to do these conversions directly in the same program.

a simple google search "rip audio from video file" brought up a lot of options .... i would hate to see MM bloated with this kind of thing

not available in MM as far as I know ...

I have been looking at the various convert options, and find many ways to convert, or send to/convert audio to audio, and video to video in all conceivable formats, but I can't find a way to convert video files to extract the audio component only.

Am I missing something?

I know I can do it using VLC player, but it would be nice to be able to do it directly with MM5.
