Sample files used to create bug are Corrupted, one file even have only 13s of Audio data and many of them missing correct format headers and file structure eg. like they are raw recorded from stream which in most cases miss all the file format info.

Suggestion, if MM plays files correctly You can always use MM to convert format of selected tracks which would re-encode file and fill the correct information. We at MM team try to at least such files as much as possible and then notify (like you noticed) where the problem is and if possible give ways to correct situation.

Clarification, MM does not crash on those files, only show a popup with the "Tag updated failed".
The constant crashing of the app is maybe something else, however i will check the re-check the files that where playing at the moment, or the song just before. As i did not notice the big gaps in the Abba song, only played the first seconds before uploading it to you. Even more confused that later in the song it went over to hardcore. I have deleted this corrupted file.

[/quote] I opened https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=20368 for analyze and see if we can do anything to better handle such files. I could not replicate constant crashes on tagging them, but MM crashed on me once.

[/quote]That will be difficult as sometimes errors are just bad Extension (M4A/AAC) or unsupported metadata (FLAC explicitly do not support/forbid ID3 tags in FLAC), Missing format headers and few other cases where new format is not needed just correction of issue.[quote=CrashMonkey post_id=514440 time=1699227092 user_id=124798]

[/quote]With each MM version we expand detection and fixes for corrupted files, but we need to be very very careful because such fixes usually irreversibly change physical file and such changes can resutl in total corruption.

I will try the filter.

Will also collect a bounce of mp3's for in a ticket, will do that somewhere next week.

If you can let the program fix it automaticly for users it would be great.

And then in options, a checkbox if users want to auto repear music with wrong formats, and to select a default profile in what codec/quality they want. Just the way you do that in the Convert format...

there must be something in file properties that you can use to filter/search for them and have them all listed in MM in a single list. Then you can use batch convert in MM to reconvert them.

It could be also useful to open support ticket and send us DL link to one of the files so that we can analyze and see if there is possibility to auto correction in future versions, what do you think?

Since i installed MM, i saw this popup also. Ignored it for long. But since everything is started to cleanup and work beter, i now have the time to solve this issue.
Got about +/- 300 tracks with a wrong format scatterd troughout the music collection.
Is there an overview / layout where i can view or search for them?

It may mean that the file has an .mp3 extension, but isn't an actual MP3 file (codec). This matters when it comes to tagging.

A tool like [url=https://apps.microsoft.com/store/detail/mediainfo/9NK81654HHV5?hl=en-us&gl=us]MediaInfo[/url] can provide more info on what audio codec is used within the file.

Not sure what the issue is here. Happening for multiple files when importing from iTunes library.
