The other possibility is that the alarm app is STOPing playback. Are you using the standard clock app?
I've tested this on Android 9, 11, 12, and 13 (2 pixels and 2 samsung devices) and can't replicate. In each case, I:
1 initiate playback over bluetooth
2 set a timer for 1 minute (using the default clock app)
-->the system timer goes off and pauses MMA playback
3 Tap 'Stop' or 'Dismiss' (depends on Samsung vs Pixel) on the phone to end the Alarm
-->MMA playback resumes
EDIT: note that when using certain devices over bluetooth on Android 13 I've periodically observed playback stopping on MediaMonkey and other apps as well. There are numerous reports of this issue online and I suspect that's whats happening.
