My Samsung tablet appears as 'Card' and 'Tablet' in MM5 when connected via USB. Both devices are showing as connected. I've never tried syncing to either target, but the option to do so is certainly available.

You mentioned that 'Card' and 'Tablet' never appear in your list as 'Connected', but also that you can select the devices in MM (MM5?) device tree, and look at the summary tab. This seems a little contradictory.

Are you saying that both devices do appear in your list, but that they're showing as 'Disconnected'/'Disabled'/other? I'm a complete novice, but this seems to be the crux of your issue, which IMHO nobody has addressed so far.

Is late here, so maybe I misunderstand.

You can initiate the sync to android from MMW if the device is connected to the PC by USB cable.

Or you can you trigger WiFi sync if the Android device is Wifi connected to your lan, and you have MMA on the android.

You don't have to use MMA as your player. You could just think of it as a MM component running on your Android device which tunes and manages the android end of the connection during the sync.

Wifi sync is quick operation. Thete are advantages over manual copying. The combination can auto-handle transcoding from ,large lossless music files to space efficient compact mp3 files for the android devices. And you get auto-housekeeping at the android end when you remove items from the sync list. And you get optional sync back of tagging and rating changes you may make at the android end while playing.

It is all really good ... Or it will be when the bugs are sorted out.

You have effectively confirmed what others are saying. MMW cannot see device on its own nor initiate sync over Wifi. You have to initiate using MMA from the device first.

Not everyone wants the complexity of MMA on their device, I have a simple music player called Musicolet, which does not stream, and does not connect to any remote content. It just plays the tracks I put on my device. Has saved queues, playlists, etc.

So, for me, I cannot use wifi to update my device from the PC. In theory, I could use USB, but I find the MMW "Sync" too difficult to use. I sometimes remove my SD card, plug it into the PC, and then use send-to on that.

Of course, I can easily access my PC over Wifi using filemanager plus app to view files, copy and paste all I want working from the device.

Hi Rob,
I don't have any connectivity problem using MM5 WiFi sync with my Android device.
My PC is connected to my LAN.
And I have the android device connected to WiFi, which is part of my Lan.

As you say. I can't browse my android device over Wifi using Windows, but MMA and MMW can establish a connection, and I can initiate a sync from the android device, and the sync happens without any connection other than WiFi.

I don't know what Brian's problem is, and I am not saying that what works for me, would work with his device and his SD card.
All I am saying is that WiFi sync is a viable option with MM5 and a an android device, with the proviso that your Android device meets the criteria mentioned in the link that LowLander posted.

My device is a Pixel 6.

MMW would recognize it, independent of Windows (however only if network and Windows/firewall don't block it).

Having trouble syncing via USB to a memory card in an Android tablet.

The tablet's two storage areas (the card and internal storage) never appear in the list as Connected. Windows recognizes the card. MM recognized it via Wifi enough to add the device to the list. (It's syncing via WiFi, but I'd much prefer USB.)

When I select the devices in MM, and check the Summary tab, the option to allow the device to remotely sync with MM doesn't appear. Does that indicate what's wrong?
