This issue has been fixed in build 1079 (currently available as beta and slowly rolling out to Production).

Can you confirm that it works for you (we were never able to replicate this)?

My phone updated to a newer version of MM and since then it's been plagued by an issue that makes it really unusable. A good 40-50% of the time when starting up to play a song, switching to a new song, etc. there's a long, 10-20s delay between user input and music playing or the new song starting.
Per advice of admins installed latest beta build but issue still occurs.
