The common method files are lost is when Send To > move it used, instead of Sync.

Thanks for this
That helped. Auto organize showed me that only about 20 files have moved and are now lost to the system on my PC
I think it may be something to do with an Android instance of MM which has the playlists in it and I hope to find the lost tracks there
Quite why they moved I don't know. Not all of them did. Feels like something to do with synching to the Android system

Are you saying files on the PC have moved? In that case you may be able to use Auto-Organize Files to move them back based on tags.

Note that adding files to Playlists doesn't move the files, something else must have been done to the files. When adding files to a Playlist in MediaMonkey it just adds a database reference.

I have a master file of all my music. Quite large (75gb 9000 tracsks)
I created four play lists, amy be 50-100 tracska in each
MMW has removed the tracks in the playlists from the master file
How can I put them back without doing it one by one
