Ooh, thanks for this trick. I'd never tried killing the app and reopening it, but it seems to finally be taking my Android plays into account on Windows that otherwise Sync refused to pick up (Wifi for me only). I use "last played" and it was visible in MMA, and not MMW, and forcing MMA to stop then reopening for some reason "opened the floodgates" when I went to sync again…

It seems to work after all. It was important to change the play count to a different value first and then back. Also, on my Android device the database was not updated until I killed and restarted the Android app. This led to misunderstandings.

We've tested, it in works on USB Sync too for us.

Can you please capture the USB Sync in a debug log (step 4b) and attach the log to a Support Ticket: https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=86643

Please include the filename for a file that failed to update on that captured Sync (making sure you have played it in MMA since the last Sync).

This will help a developer analyze why this happens on your setup.

So, USB Sync is not updating play counts, but wi-fi Sync is?

Which Build (Help > About) did you install (just making sure)?
2024.0.0.3045
Also did it fail for files played since the last Sync?
It does not work for newly played files with the Windows client. However, it does work if synchronization is started from the Android client (after saving the field again, synchronization also works for old files).

Is it possible to filter played files in android client, so that I can resave the played field?

It does not work with any client for old played files.
We presume that Auto-Sync file metadata from device to PC is still enabled.
Yes, it is.

No difference.

Can you please retry (any newly played files) with the latest MediaMonkey 2024 build? It contains fixes regarding play count sync that may solve your issue already.

Android 2.0.1.1207
Windows 5.0.5.2695

Which Build (Help > About) of MediaMonkey for Windows are you using? Are you having issue with metadata or just played counts?

Synchronization is not updating played information

by warsan » Sun Aug 25, 2024 6:21 am

I have a playlist that should only contain songs that have not yet been played. Currently over 4000 songs. I have created these in the Windows MediaMonkey client and synchronized them to my Android device. If I synchronize it again after playing songs, the metadata is initially still synchronized back to Windows. But the more I play, the less it seems to work. Even WLAN synchronization with Auto-Sync file Metadata does not solve the problem.

How can I ensure that the metadata played is transferred to the library under Windows?
