Hi,
Rob_S wrote: Sun Sep 15, 2024 10:02 pm However, the fact remains that no evidence was left behind in the original forum where it was posted of where his request had been moved to. Thus making it very hard to find for any follow up.
When you move topic there is option to leave shadow topic in original place, but it is on decision for MOD that do it. Guess in this case it did not.

I did not initially understand he wanted listing of Albums only, I thought he wanted tracks in album order. Thus my apologies for questioning this.

However, the fact remains that no evidence was left behind in the original forum where it was posted of where his request had been moved to. Thus making it very hard to find for any follow up.

Hi,
It was moved as user wants "Artist, Album, Date, Genre, Duration of album sorted by Artist, Date, Album." Which is not reports design. Especially ALBUM DURATION. It can be archived using New Addon eg. something like Report All Albums info.

On every other forum I participate in, a thread is marked as moved in the original forum so it can be found.

I have no idea why this was moved here:

Why was this moved to addons - this is a basic MM functionality?????

I think what I provided in the above example, expanded to the other fields and sort criteria mentioned will do what you ask.

I don't use playlists as the only use is as a database of mp3, movies, music videos/concert, TV shows and audio books I have on my NAS system with 32+8+8 TB.
Initially I used iTunes ( Apple TV's to play content) to make pdf's with the different lists but it can't handle larger amounts.
Please, a step by step to make an album list containing Artist, Album, Date, Genre, Duration of album sorted by Artist, Date, Album.

What I tried was Music, Album view, selected all albums. Report, File list with above chosen columns and sort.
Similar works fine for Movies, Music videos, TV...

Seems to work for me.

First select the files you want listed - ie display the playlist you want to list in the main window and select all.

From the menu file, reports file list

In the list dialog, make sure only the fields you want are displayed in the right-hand column. Then remove all field except add in the date in the sort by at the top.

Then Ok, give it a name, and go. Sample of what I get below - columns display properly in HTML, lost in the pasting below

MediaMonkey Filelist

Artist Album Date
Ventures Vol. 2-Walk Don't Run Volume 1964
Cusco Cool Island 1982
Cusco Virgin Island 1983
Cusco Island Cruise 1984
Cusco Apurimac 1988
Gheorghe Zamfir King of the Pan Flute and Other Favorites 1988
Cherish the Ladies The Back Door 1992

It sounds like you're trying to get an Albums based report, instead the report is file based.

Trying to create a html list with columns: Artist/Album/Date/Genre/Duration
and sort by Artist/Date/Album.
I end up with a list with the time for each song on the albums.
Example:
10cc 10cc 1973 Art Rock 00:05:19
10cc 10cc 1973 Art Rock 00:02:57
.
.
.
How do I set up the report to show only what I ask for? Just Artist/Album...sorted by date.
