Hi,
Assuming that you're using Windows 11 and that you're not referring to multiple tray icons displaying at once but rather to the appearance of multiple 'MediaMonkey 2024' instances in Personalization > Taskbar settings, this could be occurring due to a quirk in Windows 11.
To elaborate, MM and any other apps that displays _different_tooltips_ via tray icons (e.g. for displaying track metadata when hovering over the tray icon), cause Windows 11 to 'see' multiple instances of the app, resulting in the creation of multiple tray icons in Personalization > Taskbar settings. Note that this behavior is specific to Windows 11--it didn't occur in earlier versions of Windows.
This doesn't have any real impact on MM or system behavior, but we're nonetheless looking into an approach that prevents Windows from creating these redundant entries.
[EDIT by Rusty: as indicated by Ludek later in this thread, in our testing we have _not_ been able to replicate the behavior described above (multiple instances of 'MediaMokey 2024' in Personalization > Taskbar settings caused by Tooltips). So either this has been fixed in Windows OR the original statement was erroneous and due to a test error.]

btw, if you're actually saying that multiple tray icons are appearing, then try enabling Tools > Options > General:'Allow just one instance of MediaMonkey'
