FYI: The timings are already fixed for the future version , note that it was not removed due to many bugs, but rather because it was feature planned for the next version (and accidentally gets to the first 2024.1 build) together with further new stuff that is tied, like new tagging plugins, new chromium version etc. that needs to be tested in alfa stage of the next major version..

As for less automatic scrolling, thanks for the feeback/suggestion, added as https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=21464

Peke,

Yes that is mosly how my MM screen is set up, though for Preview I use the Advanced option to show Title, Artist, Album and Original Date on top of the album image.

That Preview pane information display is working for me, it is the behaviour of the scrolling lyrics in the lyrics pane at bottom that I'd like to see modified.

cheers

Matt

Hi,
I have tested this setup
Image

Was that you want to archive?

As for timings, that is already reported for fixing.

Ludek,
I use the Preview panel for displaying the album art, which I would like to keep. So I won't be trying the lyrics option in Preview. I use the Lyrics panel below that to show lyrics, and it is the behaviour of that lyrics panel which is at issue here.

Peke,
I understand that it is an early version, no problem, just wanted to give you an immediate impression.
Given that you will be considering updates, can I suggest that the scrolling of the Lyrics window be less automatic than it is now. At the moment the lyrics panel scrolls one line at a time to keep the current lyric line in the centre of the panel. I request that if the user scrolls the lyrics window away from its automatically-centred position, then MM suspends automatic scrolling of the lyrics panel until the user scrolls the panel again to bring the current line into a drop zone in the centre 1/3 of the panel.
Plus, I'm finding that the correlation between highlighted lyric line and the actual song is about one line too fast, meaning that the lyrics highlight tends to show the next line, not the current line.

Cheers
Matt

FYI: Workaround is to set Preview window to 'Selected' mode (instead of Playing) to show plain lyrics

Hi,
It is complete new feature There will updates in next build. Thus 3101 is released as Alpha ;) Such things are expected due the lack of testing and polishing times.

v3101 Lyrics Difficulty

Hi,

Installed 3101 and it defaulted to the new feature of "Synced Lyrics". I have the automatic background lookup for lyrics turned off, because in earlier versions that had suffered an endless lookup loop on my system. This means that if I want to see lyrics I click on the Lookup button in the lyrics pane at right.

While synced lyrics is a cool feature and seemed to work OK I quickly found that I want to turn it off because I often go back to look at earlier parts of the lyrics while the song keeps playing, and the sync process keeps trying to relocate the lyric text list.

So, I eventually found the "Prefer Synced Lyrics" in Library > Metadata lookup and turned it off, thinking that I'd get simple lyrics again. Didn't happen. After turning off "Preferred Synced Lyrics", normal lyrics no longer turned up and the lyric lookup process appeared to time out.

And, after downloading a synced lyric for a particular song and then turning off the synced lyric option, the synced lyric still appears and I'm stuck with the lyric text following the current line instead of allowing me to see earlier lines as would a simple non-synced list.

I have left the lyrics source list at its default settings, with all but textyl.co selected and lrclib.net at no 11.

Cheers
Matt
