PS : After the synchronization of the 7 songs was complete, instead of all 7 files being saved in (sent to) the F00 folder on the iPod Nano, 2 files were saved in the F00 folder, 1 in the F01 folder, and 4 in the F02 folder. Of course this doesn't change anything, but I was curious if you knew why this happened or if this is something that was handled on the iPod's file system as opposed to by MediaMonkey.

For the iPod Touch, I WOULD need iTunes installed for MediaMonkey to do it's thing, but would iTunes need to be "running" or just installed?

Does this software transfer MP3 files from a desktop to an iPod without having to run iTunes?

I had some trouble with iTunes a long time ago (the program would often hang/freeze) so I uninstalled it. Didn't really use it anyway. I rarely use my iPod (I have a Nano and a Touch and really only use them during flights). I wanted to change the music on my Nano and thought I could just drag and drop from my Desktop. Seemed to work but the iPod doesn't recognize the MP3 files when done that way (it has to be done a certain way).

Basically what I'm looking for is simple (but I realize there's more than meets the eye), I just want to select a few songs from my music library and drag and drop them to my iPod via software that isn't iTunes (and that doesn't require iTunes to be running). I have nothing against iTunes, it was unstable on my computer.
