Update: MMA 2.1.0.1264 (currently rolling out to the beta channel) has a new audio engine which may solve this issue. Please let us know if it works for you.

Thanks!

Hi NervousWrex,

So if I understand correctly, when you play content from your Audio station directly in MMA (on the speaker) the bug occurs, but when you render (cast) that content from MMA to another renderer, it plays without a problem?

If so, can you:
1) As peke suggested:
a) confirm whether the issue is specific to Audio station by using MMW as a source
b) confirm whether the issue occurs when you download the content to MMA and then play it (that way we'll know if the issue always occurs on your device and that it's not specific to casting)

2) confirm whether the issue is specific to certain tracks and/or certain file types?

Thanks!

-Rusty

p.s. I haven't replicated the issue on a Pixel 7, but will continue trying.

Hi,
Main problem what I see here is that MMA actually work as control point for Synology Audio Station eg. tells Audio Station to Serve Volume Leveling Crossfading/Gapless/None UPnP stream to destination device, which means that both Audio Station and device needs to support those commands. That also explains why you do not have issues when played in MMA which have support for it and various patches/workarounds for different implementations on third party apps/servers.

One thing you should try is to use MMW on PC as UPnP server to stream to other devices and also stream local tracks from MMA to devices.

Hey yeah thanks your response. So I currently have it set to none but I've also tried it for all variations on the options between tracks and still have the same signal loss or whatever is going on

You should try with Audio Transitions set to off in MMA. Does the same problem persist?

Hey, Rusty.

Thanks for the reply and concise breakdown of my issue. UPnP streaming to other devices (Alexa, WiiM Pro, and others) does not produce the same results with volume drops as on my Android device. I am running the following:

- MediaMonkey Pro 2.0.5.1248 on Android 16
- UPnP: Audio Station running on Synology NAS

Cheers!

Hi,

I guess that you're saying that you're using MMA to access a UPnP/DLNA media server, and when you play the tracks from the server, there are occasional dropouts.

The latest MMA beta builds (2.0.6 / 2.1) includes new UPnP code. Can you confirm:
- what version of MMA you're using (Help > About)?
- what UPnP server you're connecting to?

Thanks!

Media Server Volume Drops During Playback

For quite some time now, anytime I play music on my Pixel 9 (Android 16) and before on Android 15 from my Media Server, there are frequent drops in volume. Although it sounds almost as if the music is paused, it continues to play. Before the last 2 or 3 updates, this was not an issue. Thought I'd share to see if anyone else is having similar playback issues over WiFi from a local server. BTW, there are no other devices or services experiencing WiFi issues that affect playback or other performance. TIA!
