The very first post says exactly how to do it.

It is the freedb settings, the proxy settings is for general internet config.

Where do I put this information in?

The top box in the proxy server setting , or in the bottom box- FreeDB settings?
And then do I uncheck the box "query freedb atuomatically"

Thanks,
/Jeff

musicbrainz freedb gateway is updated

http://wiki.musicbrainz.org/FreeDBGateway

configure MM:
host freedb.musicbrainz.org
via http
port 80
path /~cddb/cddb.cgi (not needed for Mediamonkey)
It would be awesome if this could be added to the default for MM. :)

I made Shadow Copy on Need help? to be sure that this is seen in both Forums until we decide where it belongs.

Using Musicbrainz instead of FreeDB for CD look ups

by Teknojnky » Thu Feb 08, 2007 6:58 pm

I found out recently that it can be done quite easily.

http://wiki.musicbrainz.org/CddbGateway

tools > options > network > server name = www.mb.inhouse.co.uk

make sure protocol is set to http

If the disc is not in music brainz, you will have to use the mbtagger or picard tagger to add the CD ToC id to an existing musicbrainz release, or if the release is not in MB you will have to add it (or change the server name back to a freedb server).

This of course only works for cd lookups and does not involve library tracks or PUID matching.
