I signed up back in JULY and got mine in October. It does work, but the effort you put into it now (Everyone has signed up / tried it) is more than it would take to purchase with a part-time job.

I have heard people had great success with freeipods.com.

I, on the other hand, just got a free 4g 40 gig pod from incentiverewardcenter.com. Total money spent? $18.

Wellllll worth it. :)

On wired another story about this: http://www.wired.com/news/mac/0,2125,65042,00.html. Still seems a valid deal despite the problems users have.

Here's an update for ya...

I've been at this for about 3 weeks now. I signed up for a free trial of AOL, but never recieved credit for the offer. I contacted customer service to complain, and got a little bit of a run-around. I figure I'll just let it go and see if I can get 5 people to complete offers under me, then I'll fight that some another day. I have three people who signed up and completed their offer, so I just need two more to go through with it.

It's a long process, and they do their best to tire you out, but if you stick with it you might just get a free iPod!

I'll let you know if it works for me...

Almost there, have a few people signed up, but only two that have completed the offers.

It's called a Pyramid scheme, it might work, it might not. From what I've heard, this iPod one is for real. Problem is getting the right amount of people to sign up for it as well.

All I know is that Pyramid schemes are basically illegal.

I definitly see your points.

Only thing is, I created a new email address just for this, so if they spam it I'll cancel the address. And I signed up for a free trial offer, that I have every intention of cancelling before I have to pay for it.

Shouldn't cost me anything just to give it a shot. I'll let you guys know if it works.

i would follow the guests advice and stay away from it.

most of them free things like that end up costing you through the nose for it.

and it looks like that is no different as you have to join someplace that has large bills and you have to give your email to them so they can spam you. plus they want your friend to get trapped aswell. so is all that worth it and paying more for the ipod then what you would do in the store? :(

http://www.wired.com/news/mac/0,2125,64614,00.html claims so.

You'll need to sign up with a product (like rhapsody or AOL) and get 5 friends to do the same. Then you qualify for a free ipod. They also have another one for free flat screen tv's.

stay away from it.

Free iPods?

Does anyone know if this site is legit?

Offering free iPods for getting friends to sign up for offers... sounds pretty good, if it actually works...
