Music/Albums or Entire Library/Albums.
Album Artist was changed in the main panel (Ctrl&A, > Properties).
When I change it directly in the properties of the node, it is refreshed at once.

Are you referring to Music > Albums or Music > Album Artists > album artist > album?

I observed the following bug: https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=19770

After changing the Album Artist of a complete Album, the Album entry in the Library node is orphaned and not refreshed.
F5 doesn't change the entry, properties are not available (select a file or folder).
Collapsing the whole tree and open the Album node again makes a refresh.
