MD5 signatures are 16 bytes hashes of audio data. They are calculated exactly, there isn't any tolerance and thus they can be used only for localizing exact duplicates (with different names or tags). They are stored in the database only, but can be calculated for any type of file.

1. What are .md5 signatures? How are they created? How large are they? What is their tolerance to detect difference? Are they specific to .mp3 files in Songd-DB

2. Where .md5 signatures stored in Songs-DB. Are they stored in and id3 tag or in the database?

Thanks
