EphPod is the best-in-class freeware for syncing a library collection to an Apple iPod. It can sync folders, specific songs or playlists.
I would love for Songs-DB to either interface directly with EphPod or to at least create an association to the .m3u playlists on the hardrive synchronized automatically with the playlists that are part of the Songs-DB .mdb file.
I realize that this can be done manually by exporting the playlist, but as frequently as I modify my playlists for syncronization to the iPod, having this done automatically (as an option) would be a tremendous timesaver.
The EphPod team has already partnered with MoodLogic and MusicMatch Jukebox comes with the iPods, so adding this functionality would help Songs-DB better compete with those two packages. On every other front, Songs-DB seems to be leaps and bounds ahead of the competition.

P.S. I also think this approach would be more immediate and cost effective than if you were to try to program a direct interface to iPods on your own. You could best leverage the tools that are already out there.
