Thanks for interesting thoughts. It's hard to design the browsing to be the most useful for all use-cases, but we will consider user's feedback for future improvements...

The MMA genre index could be more useful.

The genre index on MMA is not as useful as on MMW.

I have some composite albums (ie. albums with tracks from a collection of various different artists). I have them setup with AlbumArtist tag of "Various Artists".

The Genre index goes Genre->Artist->Album. .. The "artist" entry is a collection of all Artist tags as well as Album Artist tags. So there is an entry there for Artists who own a whole album, as well as those with just a single track.

I only queue whole albums.

In MMW I see the whole rabble in the Explorer tree, but can group by albumartist and then into albums via a sort on the Summary column and the Show Art With Details view option.

It is easy to browse through albums, without being distracted by all tracks from composite albums.

In MMA, if the selection criteria for the index includes any composite albums, the Genre index is a lot less useful, as it is not apparent if any artist name listed there is for whole album(s), or just a single track. There can be a lot of back and forth tapping, just to get the same job done.

It would be good the folder icon for each artist in the genre index indicated whether the artist name entry contained albums (ie. albumartist tags), or just individual tracks.

Or maybe an option to filter the Genre index to just include AlbumArtist entries.

I know which artists I have whole albums for, but those artists can also be represented on composite albums. If the index is based some variable date last played criteria it is not apparent whether an entry for such an artist is for an album, or just a track.
