The setup is: MMW 1638 build running on Windows 7, and the latest MMA 0133 on a Droid X2 gingerbread, music stored on an external card. I use MMW to sync to the phone, wireless sync to sync (only) playcount info from the phone to MMW, and USB sync to update playlists etc.
Yesterday I just happened to notice that a particular song was played on the droid but did not have the right "last play" date in MMW after a wireless sync. So I played the song again with the same result. I then played the whole album. The playcounts for all of the songs on the album, and their associated last play dates, were correct, except for two. These two songs were:
Hey Hey, My My (Out of the Blue) and Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black).
Suspicious, I then created an autoplaylist with 74 minutes of random music, with the criterion being that there was a "(" in the title. I created a second autoplaylist of songs, this time requiring that "(" not be in the title. I have now played the "(" playlist 2.5 times, and the "not (" playlist once.
Of the 12 songs on the "(" playlist, only one is updating in MMW, and it updated all three times I played it. On the other hand, the "not (" playlist songs updated properly in MMW when I synced.
I have been searching for a while and have seen reports of anything like this. I should also mention that I scrobble to last.fm using the last.fm app, and I have a history of the plays there. Scrobble percentage is set to 100%, and I have visual and audio confirmation that the tracks are actually completing.
Any thoughts, replication attempts, etc. will be most appreciated!
Jeff
