I have tried this approach before, but the thing is that I do not want to keep my library on the computer and the one on the iPod in synch. The iPod in question is an iPod Mini with 6gb storage capacity.
If I create a playlist on my machine then, and sync it over to the iPod, it will end up copying many tracks that I do not want to transfer.
So what I'm interested in, is to create a playlist that only targets the files that are stored on the iPod (i.e. a playlist that is created directly onto the iPod).
I may be wrong about the effects of creating a local playlist and syncing it over, but at least it did not work as intended with my last try.
