Hi rusty, and thanks for your reply.

I have tried this approach before, but the thing is that I do not want to keep my library on the computer and the one on the iPod in synch. The iPod in question is an iPod Mini with 6gb storage capacity.

If I create a playlist on my machine then, and sync it over to the iPod, it will end up copying many tracks that I do not want to transfer.

So what I'm interested in, is to create a playlist that only targets the files that are stored on the iPod (i.e. a playlist that is created directly onto the iPod).
I may be wrong about the effects of creating a local playlist and syncing it over, but at least it did not work as intended with my last try.

Thanks again.

iPod and playlists

Gozzer,

I may be misunderstanding you, but all I think you want to do is:
-create a playlist/autoplaylist in MM
-put that playlist on the auto-synchronization list
-synch the playlist

Is that not working?

Manually creating iPod playlists

by gozzer » Fri Dec 30, 2005 7:55 pm

I can't seem to create playlists on my iPod manually, using MM.

What I want to do is to create a playlist, or autoplaylist, on the device. In this playlist I want to put songs that are allready on the iPod.

This can be done easily via iTunes, but for some reason it doesn't seem to be that easy with MediaMonkey. I do have the Gold Licence, if that makes a difference.

One other thing is that I'm not able to edit or resolve the contents of a playlist allready created on the iPod.

Does anyone have a clue what I'm talking about?

Thanks for your time :-)
