Re: How do I Add A New "Type"?
Yes, you can use Genre in Collections to filter out content. But why did they include "classical" as a "type"? Type does seem more like "Music", "Video", "Podcast", or "Audiobook" where "Classical" seems more like a genre. I'll play around with using genre to filter, but I just found it odd. When I ...

Re: How do I Add A New "Type"?
I'm in the same boat. I haven't really been using MediaMonkey very seriously, but as of late I've been trying to figure out how to use it more efficiently, but it's layout seems to be.....strange. For example, I too would like to be able to shuffle all of my music EXCEPT Christmas music for times ...

Re: I have MM running as a service, but it won't show up under Media Servers on mobile device unless I run the app
Your MediaMonkey settings are tied to the Windows User, does the Service needs to be run as the same Windows User. Obviously that's true as I just verified it, though I just don't understand why the user running the service matters (as long as it has admin/service access, I would think that it ...

Re: I have MM running as a service, but it won't show up under Media Servers on mobile device unless I run the app
Which Build (Help > About) of MediaMonkey are you using and did you setup the Service with the same Windows User MediaMonkey is running as? I'm using MediaMonkey 2024.1.0.3113. Well, that's odd. When I tried to enable the service through MM, it kept telling me my login was incorrect when it asked ...

Re: Changing file locations on a large scale
Well dang, I wish I had known about this. I tried searching, but I suppose I was looking for terms like "Change file path" which doesn't look like it's in those articles.Lowlander wrote: ↑Tue Aug 19, 2025 10:27 am otherwise you can use Locate Moved/Missing Files when files are in a different location (or when using UNC Paths).

I have MM running as a service, but it won't show up under Media Servers on mobile device unless I run the app
So I set up a MediaMonkey server and everything works fine, but only if I'm running the app. I set it up to "run as service" using the option under the server settings, but it doesn't seem to actually do anything. I would assume that if the service is running, I should be able to connect to the ...

Changing file locations on a large scale
I'm posting these here so that nobody else has to go down the same rabbit hole that I did in order to change their file locations en masse. I wish someone had posted something like this here to save me a couple of lost hours. But I'm still baffled that MediaMonkey doesn't have a method to allow you ...
