I also would like a way to make the view layout universal.

Re: Too much time thinking on what to listen
MM makes collecting, organizing, and playing so convenient that my collection also has grown into many thousands. The basic mission is to have convenient access to music that I enjoy, so I value playlists that make it easy to cue-up favorites -- thank you for all this, Media Monkey. I agree that hav...

Re: Great Sounding Computer Speakers
Stereophile magazine gave a good review to the Dragonfire Acoustics Mini Dragon DFA 2.1 desktop speakers. Unfortunately they cost $10,000, about $9,500 more than my computer... which came with speakers.

Re: How to rate songs?
Interesting discussion. I don't use the rating system, but I do like to have convenient access to songs that strike me as so good that I expect to play them often. When I add songs to the database I put the juiciest ones on "hits" playlists -- Folk Hits, Country Hits, Great Female Voices, etc. -- fo...

Re: tags won't synchronize
I have the same situation: 85 files, all mp3, MM 4.1.24.1883. I spotted this years ago and it doesn't seem to do any harm, but it bugs me not to be able to tell how these files differ from those for which the tags synchronize properly. If there's some simple answer it would be welcome.

I'll see if I can work it out in minutes instead of MBs. Thank you for the education.

Burning a CD
I haven't done this for a while, years. Now I want to burn 339 MB of tunes, 62 files, to a 700 MB CD. In step four, MM says it will take 4 disks. What is it I don't understand? Is there a way to get the material on one CD?

Two computers, one playlist?
I have two computers, each with MM installed. Using PC1 (WIN7) I collect music by downloading, copying LPs and CDs, etc. So that I can enjoy the music on PC2 (WIN10) also, I've designated M/Music Files in PC1 as a drive to be shared via Wi-Fi. This was successful: MM on PC2 will play tunes I select ...

Re: what songs give you the chills?
"The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress" by Radka Toneff.
This song has brought the best out of a number of good voices, including Linda Ronstadt, Renee Fleming, Judy Collins, and the author, Jimmy Webb. Thank you, Jimmy. It always gives me a tingle.

Love it; I want this too!
It seems natural to use the same headings for every file list, though I realize it is nice if humans who are not me can do theirs differently..

Re: Playlists (i havent a clue what im doing)
You may get a better answer to this, but I right-click on a song then on the properties, then on the Classification tab and delete the appropriate entry under that tab (i.e. delete the song from a listed playlist).

Sent email. No response so far, but will post here if I get something. Maybe the discontinuance of the free version is a sign that we should switch to HyperSnap.

Re: Anyone use "FastStone Capture"?
I have Windows 7 and the free version of FastStone. It works the same for me as you describe. Copies everything on the screen when scrolling, including frames. In addition the scroll function does not work well for me; the resulting copy has horizontal gaps and/or lines in it. However it works great...
