Re: MM opened blank with no files - corrupted INI file - fixed via Windows File History

MM did it again - corrupted the ini file and opened blank with a license prompt. Windows restore saved the day again. Given Lowlander's advice I went looking for the ini file that gets saved as part of the backup process. I found it via a Windows brute force search sitting in the Zip file created by ...

[REQ] Improved 'Stop After" Functionality

Hi Devs At the moment the right click context menu of the player offers three Stop after options, all of which apply to the files currently in the Now Playing panel (top right of screen on my installation): Off - turns off Stop after for all files in the list Current file - turns on Stop after for ...

Re: Now Playing sort order changes on insertion

Also, when the resort into album order occurs, the sort indicator arrow remains with the # (sequence) field, and does not move to the Album field which is actually driving sort sequence.

Now Playing sort order changes on insertion

I have looked for an existing thread for this wrinkle but can't see one; please feel free to consolidate if one exists. I am aware that there has been lots of discussion about sophisticated management of the Now Playing queue, but my needs are simple - I want the Now Playing panel sorted by the play ...

Re: Playing a Playlist from Title omits list edits [#22132]

As per forum guidance I did do a quick search for this but didn't find my own post on the same topic from 2023, titled "Updated Playlist - Play Now uses Previous Sequence". The symptoms described by me in that original post are very similar, but the subsequent discussion veered off into other ...

Playing a Playlist from Title omits list edits [#22132]

Setting: I have a tab with a static playlist showing in the main file list . I send the playlist to the Now Playing panel via the sideways triangle at the right of the large font playlist title . All songs are present in Now Playing and they play with no problems. Next, I change the content of the ...

Re: MM opened blank with no files - corrupted INI file - fixed via Windows File History

I think the question was meant: under the backup database dialog, does one checkmark the "settings" option to ensure that the ini file is saved?? There is no direct indication that this file will be included in the backup and restore. Thanks Rob, Yes, the forced saving of the ini file to a ...

Re: columns always resetting to default

I have also used MM for a long time, and found that for most of that time it has been remarkably prone to resetting tailored column views. MM has always had an option to define your own views, unfortunately it was also prone to resetting those to whatever you last did on the screen, or back to basic ...

Re: MM opened blank with no files - corrupted INI file - fixed via Windows File History

You can use Backup to keep backups of the ini. Thanks Lowlander. It took me some time to find the Backup settings under File > Manage Database instead of under Tools > Options > Library, but I now have Settings and Addons selected in there. I am assuming that saving "Settings" will save the ...

Re: [Req] Sort by Original Date in Grid View

... Adding the ability to sort by track-specific attributes would result in non-nonsensical duplicate album images which is why this functionality isn't provided. ... I have also (previously) requested this feature to be implemented. Yes Rusty's point is valid, but he seems to assume that all users ...

MM opened blank with no files - corrupted INI file - fixed via Windows File History

Hi, After years of MM faithfully opening to my 30K library of files, today it opened to a blank screen with no license and no files, much like this post from 2022 titled "My library is gone, everything reset in the app including the license" I opened a ticket but I wanted to share my experience on ...

Thanks, that did it. I note that once set, Capture Win32 is persistent, so I don't know how or why it got unset.

Debug of Release Version doesn't Debug

Hi,
Downloaded the debug version of the release candidate 3209 because I'm still getting some instances of the wave bar failing to show visual progress of a song playing.
Only problem - the debug version doesn't report activity to DebugView as per normal with debug versions.
Cheers
